Prego Update

Some of you have seen me by now, but here's the latest pic. The belly measures 39 inches. Found that out at the shower....

Yes, this is almost 7 months. Camille is in there somewhere, I promise. She'll go through spurts of punching and kicking, or tickling my ribs, just to make sure I haven't forgotten about her. Putting on socks and shoes is starting to get interesting, though. When I drop something on the floor I really start considering if I actually want to go down there to get it.

Two weeks ago I had my regular doctor's appointment and got the biggest shot I've ever had. This was no dainty plastic syringe. We're talking BIG needle and BIG GLASS VIAL. And before I got it, the nurse was kind enough to inform me that it burned, too. As if I wasn't having a heart attack already.

My doctor works with his daughter who is an RN. My last couple appointments have been with her. She's the one who gave me the shot and I prepared her for the very real possibility that I would cry. Yes, I am an adult and, yes, I hate shots that much.

The result: I now officially love her. I never thought these words would come out of my mouth: that was the best shot ever. She pinched a part of my hip and, no kidding, stabbed it fast like a dart. Surprised the heck out of me - I hardly felt a thing. I could definitely do that again (and I will have to after Camille is born), as long as she's the one behind the needle. Can one keep a shot-administrator on retainer?

Yesterday's appointment called for a finger prick....because they hadn't had a ritual blood-letting on me in a while. Again, needles everywhere! It wasn't bad, though. So for now I'm hopeful.

But I know the best is yet to come.

H-town

So we’ll be back in Houston for this coming weekend (19th-22nd)! We’d love to see everyone we can, so if anyone’s free to get together, here are some places we’ll be:

Friday lunch at Guadalajara on 59 around 11 am
Saturday evening hang out at the Saucer around 5 pm
Sunday lunch after church at Freebird’s around 12:15 pm

Counting the days….

Happy Anniversary, Pookey Bear!

Last Sunday, the 8th, was our 1 year anniversary! We got to celebrate with me in the middle of a tax busy season and Michael in the middle of midterms, papers, and a presentation. It will be like this for the next couple years. PAR-TAY! Good thing neither one of us is an overly sentimental person.

We did stop and make ourselves fajitas for dinner, though. mmmm....

And I got roses from my wonderful husband.

(And NO, I don’t really call him Pookey Bear. Seriously, what are you thinking?)
